Seriously, it is really my dream to be pilot in the future. Not just an ordinary commercial or passenger plane pilot but an aviator who knows how to do different aero tricks. I know it’s hard to be what I want to be but dreaming is totally free, not hidden charges, no VAT. That’s the best thing about dreaming!

We all know that being an aviator is very much expensive. The tuition fees on the aviation schools here in the Philippines are very high even just in the early years of study. I remember my friend in high school who enrolled at the Philippine Air Transport and Training Services (PATTS), told me that they are paying P45,000 for his first semester as a freshman. Too costly and that was 2 years ago, how much more today!

The financial burden in being an aviator is during the last years of this course where you need to fly a plane. This simply means that you will have to pay for that training. Pay for the gasoline, pay for the pilot who’s gonna be with you on board, and pay for some more. My friend told me flying a plane on training would cost hundreds of thousands and would reach a million pesos later on. Seeing those digits makes me stop dreaming despite of the fact that dreaming is free.

But the best thing about being an aviator is the amount of money he can make by simply flying an aircraft. While I was googling around, I came to visit a forum where I have read that pilots in UAE are paid a minimum of $15,000 monthly. Whoaa! My uncle told me years ago that here, pilots are paid for every hour of their service: P5,000 per hour, but I don’t think that it’s really the price.

It’s really hard to be an aviator which I want to be but sometimes, I came to think of a way on how to pursue my dream. What if we’ll going to apply for a loan to support me in this career?! If I become an aviator, 1 year of my service is enough to pay the amount spent for my years in this course. Or just look for scholarships from aviation schools like the PAL Aviation School in Pampanga?! But I think, Google could help me, but we’re not that really close!

Note: 20-20 vision is a requirement for this course, I’ll start eating more squash from now on!
